I received a gift today disguised as a book and the cover alone was enough to blow me away. It is Clive Barker's "Ararat". I don't know about you but there'll be no dull moments for me these following days. Here is my short note to my friends who made it possible for me to get hold of a copy of this masterpiece.
"They say that books have a profound effect on every reader. Once we finish a piece of literature, we are never the same again. The ideas of the author engraved in every book become a part of us in some deep level. We are able to enter an author's mind and the author is able to enter ours. By reading, we are able to to journey to the center of the earth, search the darkest abyss of the sea in search of moby dick or a some giant octopus, go back in time, become invisible, become a shopaholic, travel around the world in 80 days and many more.
So thank you for taking a moment of your precious time to purchase this wonderful book. There's no telling where Clive Barker will take me today, tonight, or tomorrow. But I will keep the book close with me and not let it rot and gather dust in the stingy dungeons of forgetfulness.
Have an interesting day and thanks once again for this beautiful gift."
